This weekend was a lot of fun. TJ and I were both off of work at the same time (which doesn’t always happen since I work alternating weekends). It was also a very special weekend because it was Matt and Emily’s wedding weekend! I love weddings. Although I have only been to a handful, they are so much fun. All the hard work that goes into planning a wedding is incredible (I know first hand, since we got married last October). It’s so fun to see how each couple’s dream wedding pans out. Everyone has their own unique style, color palettes, food preference, wedding location, etc.
Saturday, I spent the morning with my good friend Rachel. We took a morning yoga class and then had a picnic together at Hedden Park. TJ spent the morning creating Matt and Emily a unique wood piece for their new apartment. He is so creative…and I LOVE how it turned out!
Saturday night we were invited to the rehearsal dinner, since TJ was one of Matt’s groomsmen. It was held at Calandra’s Italian Village in West Caldwell. I know this now, since I went to the wrong Calandra’s to begin with! (No one’s fault but my own) 😉 The food was great, the people were fun and we had a nice time! It was special to spend the night with them before their wedding, amongst their closest family and friends.
Sunday morning TJ got up early to meet the bridal party for pictures. I spent the morning relaxing and puttering around the house (puttering, funny word- haha). I always come up with spur of the moment ideas…and decided I wanted to make a spring wreath. So of course, I dashed over to Michael’s Craft stores and within the hour, my wreath was hanging up on our front hallway door! I’m crazy, I know.
Around 1:30PM I left the house to drive to the Crossing Church for the ceremony. I was there early and then 20 minutes before the ‘start time’, received a text from Heather saying that Jesse’s car was having issues and asking if I could go get them. I quickly got up out of my seat and dashed out the door [haha now this is sounding like a real story..] Luckily they were only like 7 minutes away so I was able to pick Heather up, while Jesse drove his car behind us. After putting coolant in his car, it seemed to be working again. Phew 🙂 We made it just in time! Thank God, women always run a little fashionably late anyways!
The church looked beautiful, I wasn’t expecting anything less. I will let the pictures tell all. After the ceremony there was a giant tent set up outside where they had h’orderves and lovely desserts. The inside of the tent looked magical. They had trees with sparkling lights and a gorgeous array of food and desserts. We spent some time here talking with everyone and having a good time.
Afterwards, TJ went with the bridal party into the limo to drive to the reception. Jesse, Heather and I ‘killed some time’ walking around CVS. Luckily they had sandals there, so I picked up a pair– my feet were killing me! (No wonder why I don’t wear heels, like ever!)
The reception was at the Stone House in Warren. It was a very pretty venue and everything was set up very nice! We had a great evening eating, laughing and dancing. It was a great time and we were happy to be a part of it!
Congratulations Matt and Emily, we are SO happy for the two of you! Can’t wait to have dinner parties or whatever married couples are supposed to do together 😉
