About Me

Hello! So you want to know a little bit about me huh? 😉

My name is Jessica but everyone calls me Jess! I am a twenty something year old from northern New Jersey. I got married to my best friend, TJ two years ago. We live together in a 2 bedroom condo with our cat, Dexter, who I am obsessed with (Almost as obsessed as I am with the actual Dexter, Michael C Hall) We welcomed our adorable baby boy, Landon Carter, to the world this past October and are super excited to be first time parents!

I work Full Time as a Registered Nurse at an urgent care clinic. I have been a nurse now for eight years! Wow, time flies. I graduated from our local community college, where I received my Associate’s degree and attended William Paterson University afterwards, where I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).

I created this blog because I wanted an outlet to express my creativity. I love doing anything crafty and am quite artistic (thanks, Oma) and love writing about money and practical ways to save. I also blog about my journey through motherhood and what it is like to be a new mom to Landon.

On the side I write for two awesome blogs. The first is a blog called, Society Letters. Society Letters is a women’s blog, compromised of a bunch of awesome, powerful, and fun, female writers with all different talents and from all different walks of life. I am super excited to have the opportunity to be blogging for them! You can find some of my recent SL posts here. The second blog that I write for is called Breastfeeding World. As a contributor for Breastfeeding World, my goal is to encourage and inspire other new moms as they start on their own personal journeys through motherhood and breastfeeding. We are all in this together! You can find some of my most recent BW posts here.

In the meantime, thanks for stopping by! My blog is titled ‘As The Speerit Moves You‘ because our last name is Speer and my hopes are to inspire you creatively and spiritually! As you read further into my blog, you will learn more about me. I hope that you ENJOY and come back!
