I’m 30!

I can’t believe that today I am actually thirty years old! The big 3-0 is here. I am officially out of the “transition zone”- from when my single life merged with my married, “all-grown-up”, mommy life. There is no looking back, it’s ALL adulting from here on in.

As I look back on the last 10 years of my life, I can do nothing but smile. I went from a young single woman, living on her own in a one bedroom apartment, to a married, mommy of one. During this time I have had many ups and downs, good times and bad- from loss of my two dear grandparents to the joys of marrying TJ and witnessing the birth of our firstborn son, Landon. I have learned what it is like to live independently, depending on my own income and learning how to budget. I have gained valuable experience in the healthcare field, working as a nurse for over 8 years now! I have been back and forth to Europe over a handful of times + have had my ‘fair share’ of traveling and exploring this amazing world we live in.

Although my twenties were amazing, I know my thirties will be just as great- if not better! I look forward to growing our family and finding our “dream house” to live, in an area where we feel most at home. I am excited to see what the next 10 years has in store for me and am hopeful that the coming years will be some of my best years yet!

Here’s to THIRTY!

Landon turns ONE

I literally cannot believe that almost 12 months have gone by already. Say what? I feel like it was just yesterday when we were driving him home from the hospital for the first time. His first year certainly flew by. For my husband and I, this year has probably been the best year of our lives so far, it sure has been for me.

The joy that this little kid brings into our life is greater than any joy I have ever known before. The little smile that I see every morning when I walk into his room. It is the biggest smile – the kind of smile that you give when you find out you are going to Disney World for the first time- everyday.

The love that I have for this little boy is indescribable. He is the light in my life and my little best friend. He is the sunshine when the skies are grey. He is my mini-me.

This first year has been nothing short of amazing. Everyday spent with him is a pleasure. I love watching him grow and learn new things. I am blessed to be called his mother and to have him be called my first. It has been an absolute joy being there for those very special moments- from watching him roll over for the first time, to seeing him sit up independently, to watching him gain the strength to stand, and even take his first steps.

Landon Carter Speer, I love you beyond words and look forward to every year that is to come. You make me so proud to be called your mom. Don’t ever stop smiling. You make the world, my world, a better place. I love you forever and always! ~Mom

Happy birthday baby!

Celebrating 3 years of marriage!

Can’t believe it’s been three years since we got married! Time sure does fly (I feel like I say this a lot lately). Overall, I have to say, it has been an amazing year.

Shortly after our second anniversary, came the birth of our first child, Landon. This year has been full of learning how to care for our child and a lot of our time has been spent parenting rather than dating. We have gained a whole new appreciation for one another and realize how we need to work as a team to get things accomplished. It sure has been an adjustment from the single life, but I think I like our roles even better now.

This past year has had its ups and downs, but mainly ups! We hosted our first Easter, went on our first family vacation down the Jersey shore, lost what we thought was our “perfect home”, & danced to Bruno Mars in concert. I am looking forward to what the coming years will bring to us and our family!

TJ, thank you for all you do and for being a great father and even better husband. There is no one else that I would want to celebrate 3 years with, but YOU! Love you lots! Happy Anniversary my love.

Old Mr. Webster could never define, what’s being said between your heart and mine.
