This past Tuesday we had a giant snow storm here in New Jersey. I was all prepared to go to work (because a nurse’s job never ends) but my job actually decided to close. YIPEE! A snow day with my family! We spent the day eating not-so-healthy but delicious food, cozying up on the couch and spending quality family time together. There is something so nice and peaceful about staying inside and glancing out our back window into the woods, watching as the snow covers the trees. Peaceful. In total we ended up getting over a foot of snow. We don’t have an official snow suit for L yet since he is still only 4 months old, so we just took him outside for a few pictures. It was very windy and cold, but I’m glad we were able to capture this precious moment!
Well, the blizzard is finally over. It came and conquered! We got over 2.5 feet of snow here! The wind gusts moved a lot of the snow, making some areas over 3 feet high. It is 48 hours later and we still cannot get out of our house.
Luckily, I was off from work this weekend. TJ, Dex & I, spent the weekend cuddled up inside on our new couch. We made a lot of yummy food, including pancakes and bacon for breakfast, home made broccoli cheddar soup served with a ham and cheese panini with apple slices and arugula, and topped the night off with a delicious Beef Stroganoff! MMM.
The storm left behind a LOT of snow! So much, we have no where else to put it! No one has come with a plow to remove the snow from our complex. Hoping they get here soon, because tomorrow starts my first 6am clinical!
This blizzard of 2016 was sure a memorable one!
