Today I will be sharing my husband’s absolute favorite chocolate treat, Golden Grahams Smores bars! Yes, I am revealing the “secret recipe”…sorry TJ! This recipe yields 12 treats (or more, depending on how small you cut your squares). I made these for a pot-luck dessert at work and everyone loved them! The doctor I work with even requested a personal batch in return for a favor 😉
Ingredients
-12 oz box of Golden Grahams cereal
-1 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows
-1 12oz package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
-5 tablespoons of unsalted butter
-1 tsp of vanilla
Directions
1. Spray a large baking pan with pam or a layer of light butter, to prevent sticking.
2. Melt butter in a large pan over medium heat.
3. Add in bag of marshmallows and stir until completely melted.
(Keep 1 cup of marshmallows aside for later)
4. Add in 1 tsp of vanilla extract now, if desired.
5. Take pot off of heat and slowly add the full box of cereal to your mixture.
Make sure to try and cover all cereal with some of the marshmallows.
6. Add in the remaining cup of marshmallows and 1 cup of chocolate chips.
You can add as much as you like. The more chocolate the better! 😉
7. Gently stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
Once everything is well mixed, transfer ingredients into your baking dish.
Based on preference you can cover and refrigerate your bars until you are ready to serve or keep them room temperature so they are easier to cut and melt right in your mouth!
I hope you enjoyed this recipe! It is one of our favorites to make. It was actually the first dessert that I ever made for my husband when we first starting dating.
It was the dessert that for sure, won him over!
