This weekend was very special because we got to spend time with our family in Florida! This particular trip has been a surprise, one year in the making! TJ’s mom, Lisa, is turning 50 this month so TJ’s dad, Frank, planned a special birthday surprise!
Most of TJ’s family lives in Florida, except for himself, his grandparents and his brother, Jesse. Being that distance keeps them separated, what better way to get everyone together to celebrate their mom’s special birthday than by meeting up at Epcot in Disneyland? The idea was when Frank and Lisa got there that the FL family would be there to “surprise” her. Little did she know that the whole family came down to celebrate!
When they met for the first surprise, they had a Disney photographer come and take a group picture. While they were doing this, TJ, myself, Jesse and Heather, ran to get into the picture as well. She had no idea we were there, so when she saw us in the group after- she was in shock and immediately starting crying!! (Happy tears, of course!) It was perfect! The surprise couldn’t’ have gone any smoother! Taisha even made everyone tie-dyed shirts to wear, which turned out awesome.
We spent the rest of the day walking around all of the countries of the world, stopping at each to get some food and enjoy some of the rides. It was great all being together and having a fun time! The weather was perfect, warm and sunny in the mid to upper 70’s. At the end of the day we all had dinner together in Germany, which was delicious.
Overall, we had a great quick weekend trip to Florida to celebrate Lisa’s birthday! We got to go to downtown Disney, Epcot, visited Randy and Taisha’s new home and got to see my father-in-law (aka, Jersey Frank) perform at one of his weekend gigs!
Great time, great people, great memories
Couldn’t have asked for anything better!
