If you know me well, you already know that I am a design & decor fanatic. I am SO darn excited to decorate baby 2’s nursery, I literally cannot wait. Baby is due in January, but I always have a habit of doing things way far in advance. Nothing wrong with being prepared, right?
When I get to design a new room in our house, I always create myself a vision board first. I need to lay out my ideas, see visual images of furniture and accessories and then start the search to find out where I can buy each item. I am a big believer in repurposing things, so I am always searching Facebook Marketplace or searching the “Let Go” Apps, to find the cheapest and best deals. I love finding vintage items and making them fit in with the style of the room or tweaking them with some paint, so they fit exactly how I envision them.
The theme for baby boy’s nursery is rustic farmhouse. We wanted the theme of our house to carry through into his nursery. Of course, we plan to ship lap all of the walls in baby’s room, giving it a light and bright cozy farmhouse feeling. Here is my vision.

I plan to go to some nearby antique markets to find some charming rustic pieces for the room, something unique. I am on the look out for an old rocking horse for decoration, which I would repaint and fix up. We are also on the lookout for a dresser, which we will make into the changing table. I want it to look “old distressed farmhouse”, so I have my eyes peeled for the perfect one.

So far for the nursery, we have purchase a unique wall dรฉcor mirror (shown below), a cute industrial farm truck light, a vintage ladder and my favorite (so far) two beautiful framed farm animal prints, which will hang above baby’s crib. The crib we will be receiving is second-hand, but practically new, and will be a cherry wood color- which I think will look great against the white shiplap.
We also picked out the floor rug for baby’s room and I am in love with it. I feel like a rug really pulls a room together and I know we have found the perfect one. It is a beautiful beige and black rug from Lorena Canals. It has a black diamond pattern throughout and the ends fringe and tie, which make it unique and fits our rustic farmhouse theme perfectly. It is a handmade rug using organic cotton and non-toxic dyes, making it super kid-friendly. Oh, and its even machine washable, score! You can find more of Lorena Canals amazing rugs here.

I cannot wait to share pictures of the finished nursery once it is all done! We are having a blast decorating little man’s room and cannot wait to share it with you in the next coming months! Is it January yet?!
